Top 10 Things You Need to Know Before Coming to Bark in the Park

  1. Race check-in will be held from 7:30-8:45 am at the Carousel Pavilion on City Island - located across from the train station. This is a rain or shine event!

  2. If you registered for the in-person event, you can pickup your T-shirt after you check in.

  3. If you plan to participate in the costume contest, check-in will be held in front of the train station from 7:30 to 9:30 am. Be sure to add your name to the list in order for your costume to be judged. The costume parade will begin promptly at 10:30 am at the conclusion of the 1-Mile Dog Walk.
    Prize categories are:
    - Overall Best in Show
    - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Dressed Individual (human or dog)
    - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Dressed Duo (human/dog)
    - 1st, 2nd, 3rd Best Dressed Group (humans/dogs) 

  4. We have some great raffles so be sure to bring some cash along. Tickets are $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00.

  5. If you collected pledges, you can turn them in at the "Onsite Registration" table, located near the check-in tables, any time before 10:30 am. If online pledges were made towards you or your team, we will have a record of the amount and will add any additional funds you turn in. The top fundraising prize for an individual is a Fitbit Luxe®!

  6. We have lots of goodies in "Trick-or-Treat Row", located inside the pavilion. Grab a bag and fill it with items such as dog treats, pens, and more!

  7. Titan Event Company will be timing the 5K Run - we will be using a shotgun start. You can use the kiosk to obtain your results electronically following the race. You can also follow the results online.

  8. The 5K course is USATF certified! You can follow the course map here

  9. Take some photos at the photo area located near or inside the pavilion, depending on weather. Use #BarkinthePark5K on social media outlets to show the world how much fun you are having! Also, if you see a drone flying around, be sure to look up and WAVE!

  10. Have some fun while helping a worthy cause. Your participation assists Animal Care PA's core programs that help to FEED and CARE for animals in need.

The Pennsylvania Veterinary Foundation (PVF), d/b/a Animal Care PA, was established in 1983, and serves as the charitable arm of the Pennsylvania Veterinary Medical Association but functions as an independent Pennsylvania nonprofit corporation and is recognized by the IRS as a 501(c)(3) organization. The mission of Animal Care PA is to help caring people help animals by bridging the gap through our animal welfare initiatives like The Last Chance Program and Henry's Helping Paws Program as well as funding Veterinary Student Scholarships.
